Explore options for offering a dedicated cohort of the Department Chair Success Program for chairs at your campus.
Department chairs play one of the most important roles in faculty success and departmental performance. Yet many step into the role with little formal leadership preparation.
The Department Chair Success Program (CSP) now offers a campus cohort option that allows institutions to enroll 4 to 6 chairs from their university in a dedicated cohort that moves through the program together.
How the Campus Cohort Works
Your chairs will:
• Participate in the 10 week Department Chair Success Program
• Move through the chair leadership curriculum together
• Meet weekly in a dedicated small cohort
• Work with an NCFDD leadership coach
This model allows institutions to develop chair leadership capacity while building stronger connections among chairs across departments.
Program Snapshot
Program length: 10 weeks
Weekly time commitment: 3 to 4 hours per week
Weekly session: 75 minute small group meeting with a leadership coach
Why Institutions Choose a Campus Cohort
- Support new department chairs stepping into leadership
- Strengthen chair leadership capacity across departments
- Create a shared toolkit and leadership language
- Provide structured leadership development without adding internal workload
